Tereskei horgásztó

Tereske, Nógrád county

The Tereske fishery lies at Tereske in Nógrád county, and the channel has filmed three videos here — among them a spring method session and one shot with children.

The lake is small and easy to read: roughly a hundred metres across, which puts the middle about fifty metres out. That is also the practical limit, since people fish from the opposite bank too. In the video the baited spot was measured at forty-two metres and the rods were clipped to match it with the marker rod — on a small water that precision is worth more than distance.

Close in works as well: on one session the bait went in front of a bush six to eight metres out, practically under the rod tip, and fish came from there too.

The recurring method is exactly that — the method feeder; one video calls the place a method paradise, and not by accident. Bait and feed both ran on the fish-and-crab line: 8 and 14 mm halibut pellets, a 6 mm betaine pellet, a 15 mm C3 boilie, with corn alongside.

The catch is mixed, and that is one of the lake's virtues: crucian carp and bream come alongside the carp. In the video shot with children the tally was six carp, two or three crucians and four bream. Carp typically run between two and four kilos, fish around five kilos appear, and one over ten came out as well. That makes it a good choice for beginners and children: plenty of bites, and no unrealistic casting.
