Bázis is the channel's other most-fished water — twelve videos were shot here.

Three rules come up explicitly in the videos and are worth knowing before you go. Barbless hooks are compulsory. Heavily built-up leaders are banned — in the video this is why the mainline is tied straight through, with 27 lb line as a leader instead of leadcore. And third: feeding seeds and particles is prohibited — corn, tiger nut, particle mixes — so baiting here is boilie-based. That last one changes from time to time, so it is worth asking the fishery about the current position.

The barbless rule has a practical consequence that gets mentioned: with no barb, the bait stop slides off the hook more easily, which has to be allowed for when making up a rig.

Tactically the recurring finding is that feeding close in works very well here. In cold water, though, the fish sit further out, so the close-in approach is not the first choice then. Casting distance in the videos is often only around forty metres, and early-spring fish came from right against the bank.
